Azerbaijani MP Comments on Anna Hakobyan's Conduct at PACE: Armenian Response
Azerbaijani MP Konul Nurullayeva has made remarks regarding the conduct of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's wife, Anna Hakobyan, during a speech at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), according to News.am.
While addressing the assembly, Nurullayeva criticized Anna Hakobyan's participation in the first international congress of influential women held in Tehran, stating, "How can she justify her participation in a propaganda campaign attended by only the first ladies of 10 countries?"
According to Nurullayeva, Armenia's presence at this event in Iran contradicts the unified stance of Western countries on human rights and democracy.
In response, Arusyak Julhakyan, a member of the Armenian delegation to PACE, countered: "Hearing the praise of democracy from a representative of one of the most repressive countries in the world, whose 'achievements' are documented in reports by all international organizations, can only evoke a facepalm gesture from us."
