‘The Armenian Delegation to the PACE is Working to Increase Pressure on Azerbaijan’ - Rubinayan
The members of the Armenian delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) are doing everything possible to ensure that not only the Armenian delegation, but also other delegations, speak during discussions regarding the unblocking of the Lachin Corridor. This information was shared with Sputnik Armenia by Ruben Rubinayan, the Vice Speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia.
“We will do everything to ensure that everyone raises the issue of the illegal blockade of the Lachin Corridor, its consequences, and calls on Azerbaijan to immediately unblock the corridor,” said Rubinayan.
“Although the members of the Azerbaijani delegation opposed this discussion, there was a vote, and the overwhelming majority decided that this discussion will take place,” noted the Vice Speaker of the National Assembly.
According to him, the Armenian delegation to the PACE is working with all available tools to further internationalize this issue and increase pressure on Azerbaijan. Rubinayan also mentioned that there is a common approach between the opposition MPs and the government on this matter.
It is noteworthy that the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) has decided to discuss the humanitarian consequences of the blockade of the Lachin Corridor in the agenda of this session. The discussion is scheduled for January 26.
