«7 Shells Fell Near My Feet»: Rogozin Describes How He Was Wounded
During the shelling, the former chief of "Roscosmos" had already been in Donbas for about three months. Dmitry Rogozin, the former director of "Roscosmos" and head of the science and technology center "Tsarskie Volki," revealed details about the hotel shelling in Donetsk in an interview with RIA Novosti, during which he was injured. According to him, out of seven shells fired by Ukrainian military personnel, two fell near his feet but did not detonate.
The hotel in Donetsk, where the group of military-technical advisors of "Tsarskie Volki," led by Rogozin, was staying, came under fire from Ukrainian forces on December 21, 2022. The attacks were carried out with high-precision munitions. Rogozin was wounded by shrapnel and suffered a concussion.
“Out of seven hits of a 155-millimeter high-precision shell, two, the sixth and seventh, fell practically near my feet and, by a happy coincidence, did not detonate,” Rogozin said.
The head of the science and technology center stated that he had already been in Donbas for about three months at the time of the shelling, only making short trips to Moscow and other cities for business with enterprises collaborating with "Tsarskie Volki." On that day, the former director of "Roscosmos" had spent time at a military testing range near Marinka, participating in training for volunteer snipers of the BARS-11 detachment. In the evening, according to Rogozin, he returned to the hotel, had only enough time to drop off his belongings, change clothes, and go downstairs when the shelling began.
It is noted that on the early morning of February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a decision to conduct a special military operation against Ukraine, as the LPR and DPR had requested assistance. The military operations in Ukraine have been ongoing for 332 days.
