Musk on US Plans to Support Ukraine in Crimea Takeover
American businessman Elon Musk has praised the US readiness to support Ukraine if it attempts to attack Crimea. He responded to a recent article in The New York Times, which stated that the Biden administration is beginning to realize that Ukraine may need additional forces to strike Crimea, thereby strengthening Kyiv's position in anticipated negotiations.
The White House, as noted by the newspaper, had previously refused to provide weapons to Kyiv for hitting targets in the peninsula, but 'now that line seems to be softening.'
'I am pro-Ukrainian, but relentless escalation is very risky for Ukraine and the world,' Musk wrote on Twitter.
Earlier, Pentagon Deputy Press Secretary Sabrina Singh stated that the United States would support Ukraine, including in the potential operation to seize Crimea. Crimea's parliamentary leader, Vladimir Konstantinov, told RIA Novosti that if Kyiv authorities attempt to carry out aggression against Crimea, they should not complain later when they receive a retaliatory strike.
Crimean senator Sergey Tsekov stated that the return of Crimea to Ukraine, including by force, is unrealistic, and it is more likely that individual states will disappear from the political map.
