Health Status of Soldiers Injured in Fire, According to Ministry of Health

The condition of the three servicemen injured in the tragedy at the Vardenis military unit remains the same, with no change in their status. This was reported by the newspaper "Hayastani Hanrapetutyun".

They were transported to the National Burn Center with severe burns. The Ministry of Health reports that two of the injured continue to be in the intensive care unit, while one is in a regular ward.

“Naturally, we are constantly inquiring and are aware of their health status and dynamics. At this point, it would not be medically accurate to note any dynamic changes because, in cases of burns, the timeframe is short and no changes could be recorded. As specialists have repeatedly stated, the soldiers' condition is the same as it was yesterday, with two in serious condition in the intensive care unit and one in a hospital room, hence there is no change in their health status at this time. However, I must note that everything is being done, and any necessary intervention to improve their health is being carried out,” said the spokesperson of the Ministry of Health, Hripsime Khachatryan.

Yesterday, the media reported that Health Minister Anahit Avanesyan did not visit the injured soldiers because she left for Tehran immediately after a government meeting to participate in the International Forum for Influential Women, which is also attended by Nikol Pashinyan's wife.

The ministry justified the minister's absence, stating, “The minister could not postpone her pre-planned work trip; unfortunately, such an incident occurred. Regardless of whether the minister is in the country or not, she is constantly in contact with our specialists and monitors the situation.”

According to Hripsime Khachatryan, Deputy Minister Armen Nazaryan visited the soldiers instead, but he went at a time that would not interfere with the medical interventions. “We all need to understand that the health of the boys is our priority, and we need to do everything to ensure that the medical assistance provided is timely and does not interfere with treatments. However, Deputy Minister Armen Nazaryan is in constant contact with the director of the National Burn Center and the attending physician, and of course, his visit occurred,” the ministry spokesperson stated.
