Fire in a Residential Apartment in the 'Yerevan' District, Many Residents Evacuated
A major fire occurred in Yerevan today. Around 17:10, the 911 emergency management center of the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs received a call reporting a fire in one of the apartments of building 6/2 on Adontzi Street in the 'Yerevan' district. This was reported by Shamshyan.com.
According to Shamshyan.com, a firefighting unit from the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs' number 7 firefighting team responded promptly. Several firefighting units from different teams also arrived at the scene.
The fire was classified with a complexity level of BIS 1. Fortunately, there were no injuries reported, but several firefighters who assisted in evacuating residents suffered from smoke inhalation. Among them was David Petrosyan, a security employee from 'Solid', who also participated in the evacuation and was subsequently taken to 'Armenia' Medical Center.
Troops from the police and the Arabkir police department have cordoned off the area to allow firefighters to extinguish the large fire, the smoke of which was visible from a considerable distance. The police are investigating the circumstances of the fire, as well as the identity of the homeowner.
