Accident in Dilijan Tunnel
On January 20, at 12:20 PM, the Tavush regional crisis management center received a report that an accident had occurred in the Dilijan tunnel, with injuries reported and requiring the assistance of rescue services, stated the Ministry of Internal Affairs' rescue service.
A firefighting rescue team from the Ministry of Internal Affairs' regional rescue administration was dispatched to the scene. It was determined that two vehicles were involved in the collision: a "Mercedes 124" (driver A.B., born 1948) and a "ZIL-131" (driver A.P., born 1988).
Before the arrival of the rescuers, the injured A.B. (born 1948) and A.S. (born 1955) were hospitalized at the Dilijan hospital, where their health condition was assessed as satisfactory. The rescuers disconnected and secured the gas valves of the vehicles.
