Ukrainian Fans Insult and Provoked Russian Tennis Player During Australian Open

Ukrainian fans insulted and provoked Russian tennis player Andrey Rublev during the Australian Open. Russian media outlets report on this incident.

Ukrainian supporters raised the Ukrainian flag in the stands and hurled insults at Rublev. The tennis player appealed to the umpire, who suggested that he intervene and remove the flag, but Rublev refused, stating that the flag did not bother him. “No, no. Everything is fine. What bothers me more is that they are saying bad words,” clarified the tennis player.

The provocations from the Ukrainians did not yield results, as Rublev kept his composure and secured a decisive victory, advancing to the third round of the Australian Open. In the ongoing tournament, the tennis player will compete against British player Daniel Evans for a spot in the Round of 16.
