Shocked: Armenian Foreign Ministry Comments on Azerbaijani Psychological Violence Towards Children from Artsakh
The spokesperson for the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Vahan Hunanyan, has issued a statement regarding the psychological terror and human rights violations perpetrated by Azerbaijan against Armenian children.
“We are shocked by the unacceptable treatment of children who are returning to Artsakh on January 17, after being deprived of parental care and separated from their families for about 40 days due to the blockade of the Lachin corridor. As is clearly evident from the videos published by the Azerbaijani side, the so-called 'eco-activists,' displaying behavior characteristic of terrorists, halted the transport vehicles bringing the children to their homes in Artsakh, made loud shouts, masked individuals invaded the transportation means, illegally filmed the children, and exerted psychological violence against them. As a result of these actions, the children were subjected to psychological terror, with one of them fainting.
These actions by the Azerbaijani side are a vivid example of state-level hatred and animosity towards Armenians pursued in that country, reaching a level that even targets children. Such behavior has no justification under either international law or humanitarian-moral standards. Organizations and bodies dedicated to the protection of children's rights, as well as representatives of civilized humanity, must clearly assess this despicable conduct of the Azerbaijani side to prevent such incidents in the future,” the statement reads.
