Microsoft Plans to Lay Off Thousands of Employees

Microsoft has announced its intention to lay off 10,000 employees in the United States, with the layoffs expected to occur before the end of the third quarter of the 2023 financial year. The corporation has submitted the relevant documentation to the country’s stock exchanges and securities commission, as reported by Life.ru.

“We are making changes that will lead to a reduction of 10,000 jobs during the third quarter of the 2023 financial year. This represents less than 5% of our total workforce,” the document states.

The company’s decision is attributed to a desire to become stronger and more competitive amid current realities, as parts of the world are already experiencing recession while others anticipate it. At the same time, the corporation intends to continue hiring in “key strategic” areas.
