What Steps is the Catholicos Taking During the Blockade of Artsakh
The newspaper "Hraparak" writes: "Since December 12, 2022, Artsakh has been under blockade, cut off from communication with the outside world. Various statements and calls have been made during these days regarding the opening of the road. The newspaper "Hraparak" tried to understand what His Holiness Catholicos Karekin II has been occupied with during these days.
Father Isai Khaṙan Arťenyan, director of the information system of the Mother See, noted that various measures are being taken by the Mother See and the Supreme Patriarch to address the humanitarian crisis created in Artsakh and to unblock the Lachin corridor.
"To counter the illegal actions of Azerbaijani aggression and provocation, applications have been sent by the Mother See to the heads of Sister Churches, as well as to international and inter-church organizations. The Supreme Patriarch has issued relevant instructions to the worldwide dioceses and diocesan leaders to conduct awareness-raising actions in state, diplomatic, political, and public spheres, highlighting the humanitarian disaster created in Artsakh and, seemingly, to support Artsakh," he stated.
According to Father Isai Khaṙan Arťenyan, new initiatives are underway.
