Video: Helicopter Crash in Kyiv Region Registered with Ukraine's Ministry of Internal Affairs, 16 Dead

A military helicopter of the Ukrainian Armed Forces has crashed onto a kindergarten in the city of Brovary, Kyiv region. According to preliminary data, there may be children inside the burning building, local media reports.

So far, 16 fatalities have been confirmed, including 2 children. Nine of the deceased were aboard the helicopter.

Emergency services are currently working at the scene. The office of President Zelensky has confirmed the incident involving a flying object falling on a "social infrastructure facility." According to verified information, the helicopter that crashed near a kindergarten in Brovary is registered with the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine. It is likely a model from the French Airbus company's Eurocopter EC225 Super Puma.

Ukrainian media outlets report two theories regarding the incident. The first suggests that the helicopter was flying at a low altitude due to fog, and the pilot lost control. The second theory posits that it was shot down by Ukrainian air defense systems.
