Swedish Newspaper Offers €1000 for Caricatures of Erdogan

The Swedish newspaper Flamman has launched a controversial competition on Tuesday. The newspaper's editor-in-chief, Leonidas Aretakis, announced that they will award 10,000 Swedish crowns (approximately €1000) for 'satirical portrayals' of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

As noted by Daily Sabah, Ankara has not yet commented on the competition, but it is likely to face condemnation from Turkey.

Last week, Kurdish activists from Sweden hung an effigy resembling Erdogan upside down in front of Stockholm's historic town hall, which has angered Ankara significantly.
