Individual Breaks into Prime Minister's Residence, Steals About 4 Million Dram Worth of Jewelry from Anna Hakobyan and Pledges It the Next Day: NSS

The National Security Service has reported that individuals who committed violence against Ararat Mirzoyan and stole from the Prime Minister's residence have been arrested.

The statement notes that T.P., who participated in the mass unrest, illegally entered the private residence allocated to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan with the same intent. Subsequently, he entered the bedroom on the second floor of the residence along with several other participants of the mass unrest. Fully aware of the obvious nature of his actions and the criminality recognized by the attendees, T.P. blatantly stole various gold jewelry belonging to Anna Hakobyan, the wife of the Prime Minister, worth a total of 3,920,000 Armenian drams from a wardrobe in the bedroom. This included a gold watch found in a jewelry box, chains, a pendant, and a bracelet.

Afterward, T.P. used the stolen jewelry for personal purposes and, on November 10, 2020, around 10:25 am, pledged the aforementioned gold jewelry for 551,000 Armenian drams to a friend, S.S., while another chain was pledged for 40,000 Armenian drams on November 16, 2020, in his name at the corresponding branches of Fast Credit Pawnshop located on Komitas Avenue and in the Malatia administrative district.

Criminal charges have been filed against T.P. in accordance with relevant articles of the Armenian Criminal Code, and a court ruling has chosen arrest as a preventive measure for a period of 2 months. Another individual, A.B., has also been arrested.
