Minister Ruben Vardanyan Holds Urgent Consultation

The Minister of State of the Republic of Artsakh and head of the operational staff, Ruben Vardanyan, held an urgent consultation today regarding the disruption of gas supply to Artsakh from Armenia by Azerbaijan.

The discussion focused on ensuring the uninterrupted operation of critical infrastructure in the current situation. The minister instructed responsible parties in the infrastructure sectors to take measures to maintain the operation of these facilities through alternative means and to meet the minimum needs of the population.

It should be noted that since January 9, the energy supply from Armenia to Artsakh has also been disconnected from the area under Azerbaijani control. The Azerbaijani side is not allowing specialists to approach and understand the reasons for this disruption, which is necessary for carrying out emergency recovery operations if needed. In winter conditions, the 120,000 residents of Artsakh are effectively deprived of energy supply and now also gas supply.

Currently, energy supply in the Republic is being conducted solely based on very limited internal resources.
