Greta Thunberg Arrested in Germany

Greta Thunberg, the Swedish eco-activist, has been arrested in Germany. Reuters reports that Thunberg was among the activists detained near the abandoned village of Lützerath during protests at a coal mine.

Since January 11, demonstrations have been taking place near Lützerath. Protesters, joined by the Swedish environmental activist, are opposing the operation of a new mine and the demolition of buildings. According to official police information, there are 10,000 activists participating in the protests, while organizers claim the number is as high as 35,000.
