2022 Was a Very Difficult Year for Russia, Says Putin

Last year, 2022, was a very difficult year for Russia, but the country managed to navigate through unexpectedly arising risks, said Russian President Vladimir Putin during a meeting focused on economic issues. He noted that by 2023, Russian authorities have a better understanding of the risks ahead and emphasized the need to overcome them more effectively.

“2022 was a very challenging year for us, and we were able to pass through those risks, which arose mainly unexpectedly,” Putin stated, adding that these risks were overcome “fairly successfully.”

The state leader added that now Russian authorities have a rough understanding of what risks will be present in 2023. “We understand what is happening and what difficulties we will face. And of course, if we understand this, we must pass through it much more effectively,” Putin concluded.
