The Authorities Intend to Strip Only Ishkhan Saghatelyan of His Mandate

«Zhoghovurd» newspaper reports. The National Assembly Council will convene today to decide on lawmakers who have exceeded the number of unjustified absences. According to «Zhoghovurd», the focus is on Ishkhan Saghatelyan, a member of the ARF Bureau. Although there are a total of 22 lawmakers from the ‘Hayastan’ faction who have exceeded their absence limit, it has been noted that Saghatelyan's absences are more significant, and the authorities intend to appeal to the Constitutional Court only regarding Saghatelyan, requesting to strip him of his mandate.

We asked for a comment from the spokesperson of the National Assembly President, Tsovinar Khachatryan, who said, “I cannot say anything on that matter; the council meeting tomorrow will decide.”

It should be noted that Ishkhan Saghatelyan and Seyran Ohanyan, both members of the ‘Hayastan’ faction, have been in the authorities' crosshairs for a long time as efforts are made to remove these two opposition lawmakers from the political field. The opposition has announced that they will not participate in tomorrow's council meeting.
