Video: Convicted Man Poses as Doctor, Scams Two Women Out of $5,000 and Gold Watch

The Criminal Investigative Officers of the Kanaker-Zeytun Police Department have arrested a 44-year-old woman who embezzled $5,000 and a gold watch weighing 20 grams through deception. This information was reported by the press service of the Police of the Republic of Armenia.

The woman, who identified herself as Maga, confessed at the department that she had taken the money and the gold watch from the victim but transferred them to a third party.

It was revealed that the fraud was organized by a 48-year-old man serving a sentence in a correctional facility, who presented himself as a doctor named Tigran Harutyunyan. He had promised to sell medical equipment to the victim woman, while telling the woman posing as Maga that he had sold his apartment to the victim and needed to receive money from her.

As a result, the woman claiming to be Maga received the money in installments from the victim and transferred it to the 48-year-old man serving a sentence in the correctional facility.

A criminal case has been initiated.
