Azerbaijan and Peacekeepers Must Restore Free Movement: Human Rights Watch on Lachin Corridor Blockade
The life route connecting Artsakh with Armenia has been blocked for more than a month, leading to severe humanitarian consequences for the ethnic Armenians living there. This was stated by Georgi Gogia, the Deputy Director of the South Caucasus division of Human Rights Watch (HRW), on his Twitter microblog.
“Azerbaijan and peacekeepers must restore free movement and ensure access to essential goods and services,” Gogia wrote.
It is noteworthy that since December 12, at 10:30 AM, communication from the villages of Lisagor, Mets Shen, Hin Shen, and Yeghdzahogh in the Shushi region to the capital Stepanakert has been interrupted. A group of Azerbaijanis in civilian clothes has again blocked the Stepanakert-Goris highway under the pretext of environmental concerns.
