Armenians and Georgians Can Use ID Cards Crossing the Border
The Armenian government has approved a proposal to sign an agreement on mutual visa-free travel between the citizens of Armenia and Georgia.
According to the agreement, Armenian and Georgian citizens can use only their identification cards when crossing the border, and there is no need to present a passport.
Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan also emphasized that building special relations with neighboring Georgia is one of the political priorities. “In practice, there are regular contacts at the highest level, and there are intensive ties between the relevant departments. Georgia is one of the preferred destinations for our citizens for both practical and leisure visits,” he noted.
