«120 Thousand People, Including 30 Thousand Children, Are Starving to Death Before the Civilized World’s Eyes» - Marukyan
Already for a month, Azerbaijan has blocked the Lachin corridor in Nagorno-Karabakh, and only the International Committee of the Red Cross has the opportunity to transfer seriously ill patients. This was stated by Special Envoy Edmon Marukyan on his Twitter account. He added, “There is no food, no medicine, and no means of survival; 120 thousand people, including 30 thousand children, are starving to death before the civilized world’s eyes.”
It should be noted that Artsakh has been under blockade for 32 days. Since December 12, Azerbaijan has continued to keep the road connecting Artsakh to the world closed under the pretext of fake “environmentalists,” thus halting traffic and severing the only link between the citizens of Artsakh and the outside world.
120,000 people in Artsakh, including 30,000 children, celebrated the New Year under blockade while waiting for the opening of the road. Due to the closure of the road connecting Artsakh to Armenia by Azerbaijanis, 1,100 citizens have not been able to return home, of which 270 are children.
