They are trying to blackmail me and my relatives to achieve their goals: Gerasim Vardanyan

Since all this is a political staging, a political directive, I have not been interested in why they are conducting searches. I already roughly presume why they might have come to search. This was stated by Gerasim Vardanyan, a member of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation, after exiting from the police today, January 11.

“Yesterday, the Court of Cassation rejected the appeal of the chief prosecutor’s deputy regarding my re-arrest. They probably haven’t reached their goal and are trying to find other means to take me into custody again. When they see that their means of keeping me in confinement are very weak, they are trying to target me, organize shows, break into people’s homes in the morning, alarming family members, relatives, and children. This all is a show,” he said.

Vardanyan added that he later learned that not only had they come to search his home, but they had also entered the homes of his relatives and searched the homes of other members of the ARF. “Many have been detained, and several have already been arrested. Let’s see what happens. This is a fabricated, invented criminal case; I have even been in prison during that period, and my meetings have been restricted. It is absurd to connect me to this case. They are trying to keep me, my friends, and my relatives constantly under tension, blackmailing us to achieve their goals. But I have said and I say again: our struggle will not stop because of this. We were in prison yesterday, we are free today; we may be in prison tomorrow, but we will go until the end. Nikol Pashinyan must leave, and we will remove him at all costs,” he stated.

Earlier, NEWS.am reported that several members of the ARF, including Gerasim Vardanyan, were detained early this morning.
