Davit Tonoyan Issues a Statement

The former Minister of Defense of Armenia, Davit Tonoyan, has issued a statement in which he notably mentions: "On December 29, 2022, the court ruled to reject the bail application, stating that the summoned witnesses have not yet been interrogated, whose testimonies are of significant importance and can have a substantial impact on the interpretation and evaluation of several examined documents." The court also qualified our defense's opinion as 'subjective,' arguing that the evidence examined has disproved the circumstances underlying the charges against me.

Nevertheless, the witnesses invited by the court for the January 10 session were not present, despite the judge's announcement during the previous session on December 27, 2022, stating that at least five witnesses would be invited to the upcoming court session. At least two court sessions have been interrupted due to power outages, and during the examination of evidence, technical means were either absent or inactive. Several court sessions have not been held due to the overload of judges and the prosecution, and now, additionally, due to the excuse of the judge's on-call duties.

I perceive all of this as an intention to keep me in custody for as long as possible and a failed attempt to prevent the final collapse of this fabricated criminal case.
