On December 28, 2020, a criminal charge against A.S. and G.B., who committed hooligan acts against MPs Andranik Kocharyan and Sisak Gabrielyan, was submitted to the first instance court of Yerevan on December 19, 2022, the Prosecutor General's Office of Armenia reported.
The Prosecutor's Office informed that G.B., during the time frame of 09:00 to 11:30 on December 28, 2020, participated in a gathering aimed at obstructing the normal operation of the National Assembly and, along with a group of individuals, intentionally and grossly violated public order, which was accompanied by acts of violence. Specifically, G.B. attacked the service vehicle of MP A.K, who was inside, with eggs and snowballs as he approached the National Assembly building. Immediately thereafter, G.B. was apprehended by the police of the Arabkir department.
Subsequently, a group of participants in the gathering continued their hooligan actions and blocked the traffic on Demirchyan Street around 11:00. A.S., who had joined them, along with unidentified individuals, impeded the movement of MP S.G., using obscene expressions. The parliament member attempted to avoid conflict and suggested opening the way, but an unidentified participant hit S.G.'s vehicle to provoke a confrontation. A dispute ensued between the member and the gathering participants, during which A.S. and others hurled sexual insults, struck S.G. with eggs, and physically assaulted him, inflicting various blows to different parts of his body.
A.S. and unidentified individuals continued to aggressively breach public order, pursuing S.G. after pushing through the police cordon that was attempting to maintain order, all while continuing to emit sexual slurs and pelting him with eggs, causing minor injuries without significant physical damage, such as bruises on his arm and elbow, and soft tissue bruising on his cheek.
A.S. and the unidentified individuals ceased their hooligan activities following the intervention of a large police force on-site at 11:20, after A.S. was taken to the Arabkir police station.
According to the decision of the supervising prosecutor, on December 12, 2022, a public criminal prosecution was initiated against G.B. and A.S. for hooliganism committed by a group in accordance with Article 297, Part 2, Point 1 of the Criminal Code, and for inflicting blows or performing other violent actions under Article 195, Part 1 and Article 297, Part 2, Point 1 of the Criminal Code.
