These Are Pashinyan's Government Maneuvers: Zatulin on Pashinyan's Statements
Konstantin Zatulin, the first deputy chairman of the State Duma's Committee on CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration, and Relations with Compatriots, stated in an interview with the radio station 'Govorит Moskva' that European countries and the United States do not intend to assist the Armenian side in resolving the conflict.
“These are Pashinyan's government maneuvers. Over the past six months, there has been an overt effort to change allies in Armenia: from Russia to the West,” Zatulin said.
On one hand, according to Zatulin, the Armenian government declares its desire to accept the Russian version of resolving the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh, while on the other hand, it speaks of not being actively involved in the CSTO, fully aware of its implications.
“These are Pashinyan's government maneuvers, which have been openly working towards changing their allies for the last six months, shifting from Russia to the West. The fact that these statements are made simultaneously indicates that they are playing politics within the Armenian government. On one hand, they announce their desire to accept the Russian version of the resolution (of the Nagorno-Karabakh situation). On the other hand, they simultaneously talk about not being actively involved in the CSTO, fully understanding that the CSTO is a coalition created by Russia,” Zatulin commented.
