VIDEO: 46 Injured in Protests in Brazil
In Brazil, 46 people have been injured during protests, according to the newspaper "20 minutos." Reports indicate that the condition of 6 of the injured is serious, with 2 individuals receiving emergency medical assistance.
Supporters of former president Jair Bolsonaro, who have been protesting the results of the presidential elections since late last year, stormed the Congress building, invaded the presidential palace (Palácio da Alvorada), and the Supreme Court building on January 8 in the capital city of Brazil.
Police were only able to clear the government buildings of protesters in the evening. According to the head of the Federal District, more than 400 people have been detained following the unrest. The Civil Police have reported that a total of 300 people have been arrested.
