Peskov Comments on Upcoming New Wave of Partial Mobilization
The press secretary of the Russian president, Dmitry Peskov, commented on claims regarding an upcoming new wave of partial mobilization, stating that the importance of Telegram channels should not be overestimated, and that authorities remain the primary source of information, as reported by RIA Novosti.
“This has been mentioned many times on the same Telegram channels. One should not ascribe such importance to Telegram channels at all,” Peskov told reporters while addressing the information regarding the continuation of mobilization on Telegram channels. He emphasized that the primary source of information regarding mobilization is the official government led by the president of Russia, and the role of Telegram channels should not be inflated.
It is noteworthy that a partial mobilization was declared in Russia on September 21, 2022. On October 31, 2022, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation announced the conclusion of the conscription of reservists as part of the partial mobilization and that the delivery of summons would be halted.
