One of the Most Notorious Cold War Spies Released in the USA
After more than 20 years of imprisonment in the United States, Ana Montes, one of the most notorious spies from the Cold War era, has been released. Montes, now 65 years old, worked as an analyst in the Pentagon's Defense Intelligence Agency and spied for Cuba.
After her arrest in 2001, American officials claimed that she had almost completely compromised U.S. intelligence operations in Cuba. According to one official, Montes was one of the most dangerous agents ever arrested by American intelligence services, having caused significant damage to the United States.
