Man Beats Uncle to Death in Kapan, Attempts to Hide Evidence by Burning Bedding
On January 8, at 5:00 PM, the Kapan police department received a report that an ambulance had been dispatched to a house on Garekin Nzhdeh Street in Kapan. The 52-year-old homeowner, who had sustained various degrees of burns, died in the ambulance while being transported to the hospital.
An operational investigative group was sent to the hospital. According to the forensic expert, traces of violence were found on the body, indicating cuts and stab wounds.
As a result of the operational-search measures carried out by the Syunik regional police and Kapan division, it was determined that during a dispute at the mentioned house, the 52-year-old man was beaten and inflicted with various degrees of bodily harm by his brother's 29-year-old son. Subsequently, in an attempt to hide the evidence, the young man burned the bedding in which his uncle lay unconscious.
The 29-year-old man has been arrested and taken to the Kapan police department, where he submitted a confession statement. He and the compiled documents have been forwarded to the Syunik regional investigative department. Criminal proceedings have been initiated.
