Iran's Foreign Ministry Spokesman Acknowledges Disagreements with Azerbaijan
“Iran and Azerbaijan are two neighboring countries. They have a long common border, and there is political cooperation stemming from mutual interests.” This statement was made today during the weekly press conference by Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani, reported by APA's Tehran bureau.
“We believe that certain disagreements between the two countries should be resolved through negotiations. The Azerbaijani side has taken positive steps in this direction. Iran, as before, is also taking steps in this regard,” Kanaani stated today according to the Turan agency.
At the same time, he denied claims that relations between Baku and Tehran are cold, noting that despite some misunderstandings, relations between Iran and Azerbaijan are normal.
It is worth mentioning that against this backdrop, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi is set to visit Turkey. The Iranian president will visit Turkey at the invitation of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Kanaani emphasized that relations between Iran and Turkey are at the highest level.
