Car Accident in Ararat Region Involving Newborn Among Casualties

On January 8, at 23:54, the National Crisis Management Center received information about a car fire on the road leading to the village of Arevabuyr in the Ararat region, with people inside the vehicle.

A firefighting rescue unit from the Ministry of Emergency Situations' regional rescue department was dispatched to the scene. It was discovered that on the 18th kilometer of the Yerevan-Meghri road, a collision occurred between a Toyota Camry (driver: G.M., born in 2001) and a Toyota Tundra (driver: M.G., born in 1984), which resulted in a fire in the engine compartment of the Toyota Camry.

The rescuers approached the driver of the Toyota Camry and assisted him to an ambulance, where he was hospitalized at Erebouni Medical Center. The driver of the Toyota Tundra was taken to the medical center in Masis city, while passengers S.G. (born in 2011) and M.G. (born in 2022) were hospitalized at Surb Astvatsyayr Medical Center, where after receiving necessary medical care, they were discharged.

The fire was contained by 00:09 on January 9 and extinguished by 00:12. The engine compartment of the Toyota Camry was partially burned. Rescuers disabled the vehicles and turned off the gas cylinder valves, and the Toyota Camry was brought closer to the tow truck.
