Aliyev: It Is Necessary to Return All Internally Displaced Persons to Karabakh

The President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, announced government plans to construct sports facilities in all cities of the Karabakh region under the republic's control. "Sports facilities are set to be created in all liberated cities. The master plans for all cities have been established. All restoration work will be carried out based on these master plans, which also include the creation of sports facilities," Aliyev stated during an event dedicated to Azerbaijan's sports achievements in 2022, held on Monday.

In particular, he noted that a project for the reconstruction of the stadium in Agdam (Aknar) is being developed, which will include the construction of a large Olympic sports complex. Additionally, the foundation for the Karabakh equestrian complex has been laid in Agdam (Aknar).

Aliyev emphasized the need to return all internally displaced persons to Karabakh first and foremost. "Work is being done in this direction; first, schools, hospitals, and infrastructure must be created, but we must not forget about sports facilities," he added.
