Why Judge Mnatsakan Martirosyan Was Removed from the List of Candidates for the Anti-Corruption Court
According to information from the "Zhoghovurd" daily, the removal of Judge Mnatsakan Martirosyan, known as Matzoy, from the list of candidates for the Anti-Corruption Court judges is not coincidental. According to sources, political authorities personally summoned him and stated that the public outcry surrounding his name was so significant and negative that it would be better for him to withdraw his candidacy and submit a resignation, which Martirosyan has done.
It should be noted that on December 30, the Supreme Judicial Council decided by open vote in a consultative chamber to remove Mnatsakan Martirosyan from the candidates for judgeship in the anti-corruption specialization section of the list of candidates for judges based on point 2 of part 1 of article 113 of the constitutional law "Judicial Code of the Republic of Armenia." Thus, Mnatsakan Martirosyan will continue his service as a judge of the First Instance General Jurisdiction Court of Yerevan and will not be transferred to the Anti-Corruption Court.
