No Final Decision Yet on Second Satellite, Says Minister of High Technology Industries

The management process of Armenia's first satellite, ArmSat-1, which was put into operation in 2022, is expected to be carried out from Armenia in 2023.

"Most of the equipment has been delivered to Armenia, but we did not manage to complete the assembly work in 2022," said Robert Khachaturyan, the Minister of High Technology Industries, during a press briefing following a government meeting on January 5.

According to the minister, the contract stipulates that the satellite control center and the receiving station are to be commissioned in 2023.

Regarding the possibility of having a second satellite, the minister noted, "It is still in the discussion phase; we are negotiating and familiarizing ourselves with the offers available in the market, but no final decision has been made yet."
