Bosphorus Strait Closed

Ship movements through the Bosphorus Strait, which separates the European and Asian parts of Istanbul, have been temporarily suspended due to dense fog on Thursday morning. This was reported by the Turkish Coast Guard, as noted by TASS.

“As of 06:20 local time (07:20 Yerevan time), the movement of vessels in both directions in the strait has been temporarily halted due to dense fog. It will be restored after weather conditions improve,” the statement read.

Earlier, meteorologists had warned of dense fog in the Sea of Marmara, Bosphorus, and the Dardanelles Islands between January 1 and 6. Consequently, navigation in these areas has been repeatedly suspended during this period.
