Artificial Fertilization Program Funded by State Budget Now Open to All Citizens of Armenia, Minister Says

The artificial fertilization program funded by the state budget will now be open to all citizens of Armenia, regardless of their place of residence, social status, or marital status. This was announced today by the Minister of Health, Anahit Avanesyan, during a government meeting. She noted that previously, priority in the state-funded program was given to families of fallen servicemen and residents of border communities and had included a small group of beneficiaries.

“We believe that this program is highly anticipated, as we have received quite a number of applications that we have queued, and we think that as a result of expanding the program, we will be able to meet the demands of our citizens,” Avanesyan said.

The minister also mentioned that the issue of secondary infertility is widespread in Armenia, and to address this issue, the ministry is offering the program to families in border communities that have one child. They will be able to have a second child with state support.

She informed that within the framework of the infertility program launched in Armenia in 2020, 250 children have been born.
