What Will 2023 Be Like from a Geopolitical Perspective? Babayan Makes a Statement

The Acting Foreign Minister of the Republic of Artsakh, David Babayan, has analyzed what 2023 will look like from a geopolitical perspective. According to Babayan, 2023 could become a very significant period both globally and in our region.

“What will 2023 be like from a geopolitical perspective? This is a question that interests both ordinary people and, of course, politicians, analysts, and scientists. In general, there are relatively stable, peaceful, inert years. There are tense, tragic periods. But there are also turning points. Examples of such times for us include 1985, 1988, 1991, 1992, 1993, 1994, 2016, 2018, and 2020. Yes, this is an overwhelming amount for a single nation and a generation. But this is our fate, our cross that we must bear.

Among critical periods are also those that can be characterized as double-fated times, when fundamental geopolitical changes occur at both global and regional levels. For us, such periods can be considered, for example, 1914-1923 and 1985-1991. A geopolitical rift was recorded in 2022, which also affects regional processes. Therefore, 2023 could become a very important period both in the world and in our region.

However, it should be noted that the geopolitical rift does not necessarily manifest through disasters; it can also be a period of disaster prevention. We must also understand that double geopolitical shock periods are fraught not only with dangers and challenges but also with opportunities for solving a number of complex problems. We simply need to persevere, work diligently, and never lose faith and self-control,” stated the Acting Foreign Minister of Artsakh on his Facebook page.
