Tesla Delivers Record Number of Electric Vehicles to Customers in 2022
The American electric vehicle manufacturer Tesla delivered a record 1.31 million cars to the market last year, marking a 40% increase compared to 2021.
Specifically, in 2022, Tesla delivered 1.247 million Model 3 and Y electric vehicles, which is a 37% increase compared to the previous year. Deliveries of Model S and X also rose 2.7 times, totaling 66,705 vehicles.
Last year also saw an increase in the company's electric vehicle production by 47%, reaching 1.37 million vehicles. Tesla produced the most electric vehicles with the Model 3 and Y, totaling 1.298 million, while the Model S and X saw production of 71,177 vehicles.
In the fourth quarter of 2022, Tesla's electric vehicle deliveries increased by 31%, reaching a record 405,278 electric vehicles, which included 388,131 Model 3 and Y, and 17,147 Model S and X.
Production in October-December rose by 44%, reaching 439,701 vehicles, of which 419,088 were Model 3 and Y, while 20,613 were Model S and X.
Although Tesla's deliveries in the fourth quarter became record-breaking, they fell short of the expectations set by analysts surveyed by Bloomberg, who forecasted 420,760 electric vehicles in that period.
Tesla Motors was founded in 2003 as a developer and manufacturer of electric vehicles and related technologies. The company is headquartered in Palo Alto, California. In addition to electric vehicles, the company manufactures batteries and electric motors using its own technology and sells it to other automotive companies such as Toyota and Daimler.
