VIDEO: Major Fire at a Hotel in Cambodia, Casualties and Injured, People Trapped

A major fire broke out at the Grand Diamond City hotel and casino in Poipet, Cambodia. According to The Phnom Penh Post, at least 10 people have died and 30 have been injured. Additionally, more than 400 people may be trapped inside the casino building.

Victims have suffered from burns, poisoning from smoke inhalation, and injuries from falling out of windows. Reports indicate that among the deceased are citizens of Cambodia and Thailand.

Firefighting efforts are ongoing. Poipet's mayor, Nim Phheng, told The Phnom Penh Post that firefighters from both Cambodia and Thailand are working to extinguish the flames. According to a source from Thailand's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the agency is cooperating with local authorities, and some of the injured have been transferred to Thailand's neighboring Sa Kaeo province.

Poipet is located on the border with Thailand, and the Grand Diamond is one of many complexes situated along the border, featuring both a hotel and a casino.
