How the Phones Bought by Anna Hakobyan for Orphanage Students Were Acquired

Days ago, the State Revenue Committee issued a statement announcing that "holiday control purchases" had been conducted, which mentioned that several organizations and individuals were fined for violating the RA law on "Cash Transactions" and failing to provide cash register receipts.

Among those fined were Taron Ispriyan, known as Ponch from the "Vumens" club, and Tamara Petrosyan. They had recently participated in a protest against the blockade of the Lachin corridor, and prior to that, they received a prepayment of 500,000 drams for hosting a wedding but did not provide a cash register receipt, leading to a fine of 1 million drams imposed by the SRC.

According to Hraparak.am, Anna Hakobyan, the wife of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, posted photos on her Facebook page showing her visit to the Mari Izmirlian Orphanage, where she distributed gifts to the children. This time, the gifts were expensive.

Hraparak.am has learned that Anna Hakobyan donated “Redmi” model phones to the orphanage students. The purchase of the phones allegedly took place at the “Icentre.am” store and was made in cash.

The news outlet attempted to verify the information from the store; a girl answering the phone confirmed that phones had been purchased by Hakobyan's office, but when asked whether the purchases were made in cash or not, she responded, “Sorry, but we cannot disclose that, it’s an internal secret.”
