Inmate Dies at Nubarashen Penitentiary

An inmate has died at the Nubarashen penitentiary, according to the Armenian Ministry of Justice's penitentiary service.

"On December 25, 2022, around 11:10 AM, an inmate serving a sentence, identified as A.K. born in 1976, was called for emergency medical help due to a deterioration in his health. He was transferred to the Erebuni Medical Center. On December 26, around 6:00 PM, the inmate was returned to the Nubarashen penitentiary. The following day, on December 27, at approximately 1:10 AM, A.K.'s condition sharply deteriorated again, prompting another emergency call, which at around 1:25 AM, registered the biological death of the inmate," the statement said.
