Vruyr Barseghyan, accused in the murder case that took place in Pemzashen, has been found to be mentally competent, according to Garik Galikyan, the legal representative of the victims' heirs in the Pemzashen murder case.
“In relation to a question that concerns many regarding whether one of the defendants, Vruyr Barseghyan, suffers from a mental health issue and could be declared insane, thus avoiding punishment, I would like to mention that we have received the conclusion of the Outpatient Forensic Psychiatric Commission, which states that the defendant Vruyr Barseghyan has been recognized as competent (the individual is not ill and is aware of his actions),” the lawyer wrote.
Furthermore, according to the expert's conclusion, Vruyr Barseghyan is capable of participating in investigative and judicial proceedings given his current mental state.
