Why Did the Man Take His Wife's Life: Details of the Brutal Murder in Vanadzor

The Investigative Committee of Armenia's Lori Province is conducting investigative and procedural actions to clarify the circumstances of a woman's murder that occurred in Vanadzor on December 25, 2022.

The alert regarding the incident was received the same day from a 38-year-old resident of Vanadzor, who reported that he had killed his wife.

During the preliminary investigation initiated under point 9 of the second part of Article 155 of the RA Criminal Code, the inspection of the crime scene revealed the body of a 34-year-old woman in an attached shed on 7 Fidainner Street in Vanadzor, showing signs of sharp, penetrating wounds to the neck.

Following necessary investigative measures, several circumstances of the incident, including the motive, were established. The 38-year-old man has been arrested and has provided a confession.

According to information received by ArmLur.am, the husband personally went to the police and stated that he had committed the act, explaining that he was driven to this extreme step due to jealousy towards his wife.

A forensic examination has been appointed within the framework of the criminal proceedings, and a knife identified as the weapon of the crime has been found during the crime scene inspection. Numerous individuals have been questioned. The investigative body has been instructed to undertake operational investigative measures. The preliminary investigation continues.
