The State Revenue Committee Fines Tamara Petrosyan and 'Ponch'
The State Revenue Committee (SRC) has announced measures aimed at reducing the shadow economy and bringing hidden income into the tax domain by monitoring compliance with regulations established under the Republic of Armenia's law on non-cash transactions.
During a series of operational investigations, the SRC's employees identified irregularities involving fictitious or misleading information used in preparations for a "wedding event" that resulted in several fines.
Specifically, the following fines were imposed:
- Mileniun Suite: Four vehicles were rented for a total value of 860,000 AMD. A cash advance of 500,000 AMD was paid; however, no cash register receipt was issued, and the limitations on cash transactions were not adhered to, resulting in a fine of 1,000,000 AMD.
- Monami LLC: Wedding decorations were ordered totaling 3,500,000 AMD, with a cash advance of 1,000,000 AMD. Similar violations were noted, leading to a fine of 990,656 AMD.
- Agnessa Avagyan: A wedding cake was ordered for 1,100,000 AMD, and a cash deposit of 500,000 AMD was paid without a cash register receipt. A fine of 825,320 AMD was imposed.
- MilaMax LLC: A tourism package to the Maldives costing 2,575,000 AMD included a cash advance of 500,000 AMD. A fine of 700,735 AMD was issued for the same violations.
- Alur LLC: A wedding dress worth 500,000 AMD was rented, with a cash payment of 100,000 AMD made in advance, leading to a fine of 206,150 AMD.
- Wedding Hosts Taron Ispehryan and Tamara Petrosyan: Offered services for a wedding event for 2,000,000 AMD, with a cash advance of 500,000 AMD paid. They were also fined 1,000,000 AMD for not issuing a cash register receipt.
The SRC urges all business owners and stakeholders to adhere to the law's requirements regarding cash register receipts, as not complying may reflect on criminal activities as per the Criminal Code of Armenia. The SRC will continue to monitor these behaviors and prevent such negative phenomena.
