“Problems Have Already Started to Arise”: Ruben Vardanyan
The Minister of State of the Republic of Artsakh, Ruben Vardanyan, chaired an operational staff meeting today, where issues regarding the assurance of normal living conditions for the population amidst Azerbaijan's ongoing blockade of Artsakh were discussed.
According to the government of Artsakh, Minister Vardanyan noted that the road remains blocked, and problems have already started to arise in the economic sector as well. Several institutions are forced to suspend their activities, which is creating additional tension both financially and socio-economically.
The Minister instructed to analyze the situation and present proposals for possible mitigation of its consequences. The current situation in the markets of food products, pharmaceuticals, gasoline, and diesel fuel was reported, and the issues were outlined.
Various scenarios concerning the provision of essential goods to the population and the possibilities for implementing relevant regulations were also discussed. The status of energy supply, water supply, and infrastructure sectors was presented as well. To ensure the uninterrupted operation of these systems, the importance of continuing a conservation mode was emphasized.
