Criminal Proceedings Initiated Over Hooliganism During Brusov University Rector Elections

On December 9, 2022, during the rector elections of the Brusov State University, a report regarding a hooliganism incident at the university's administrative building prompted the Criminal Investigation Department of the Yerevan city investigative unit to initiate criminal proceedings under Article 297, Part 1 of the RA Criminal Code.

The Public Relations Department of the Prosecutor General's Office has reported that in addition, based on another report received by the Yerevan city Prosecutor's Office for the Center and Norq-Masarik administrative districts, on December 22, 2022, criminal proceedings were initiated under Article 457, Part 1 of the RA Criminal Code regarding instances of fraud that occurred during a meeting of the Board of Trustees related to the rector elections of the same university.

Preliminary investigations are being conducted under the supervision of the prosecution for the mentioned criminal proceedings.
