"The Relations Between the Two Countries Are As Solid As a Rock": Wang Yi on Russia and China
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has stated that the political and strategic mutual trust between Russia and China has strengthened over the past year, asserting that the relationship between the two countries is "as solid as a rock." The minister noted that in 2022, Russia and China deepened their friendly and fraternal cooperation, and their comprehensive strategic partnership has become "more mature and solid."
Wang emphasized that the relations between Moscow and Beijing are not aimed against any third party and are not antagonistic, being based on the principles of non-alignment and non-confrontation. He added that in response to the United States and other Western countries that seek to undermine China’s image, the Chinese authorities have successfully utilized the platform of the United Nations.
