“We Understand That Contracts Are Not Signed That Way”: Bayramov
The Azerbaijani and Armenian sides are constantly working on proposals and presenting them to each other.
This was stated by Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jayhun Bayramov during a joint press conference following talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in Moscow, commenting on Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's remarks yesterday that Armenia had submitted proposals to Azerbaijan regarding a peace treaty.
“It is difficult to say whether the document satisfies us. Naturally, the process is not easy; it is complex. The positions of the parties are often different, and therefore proposals need to be discussed in several stages. As a result of these discussions, you express your position to the other side more clearly and understand the other side’s position better. Yesterday, the Prime Minister of Armenia announced that he is ready to sign the agreement on the conditions presented by them. But we understand that contracts are not signed that way. Based on this reasoning, we were ready to sign an agreement in Geneva on October 2 under our terms,” emphasized the Azerbaijani foreign minister.
