Taliban Prevent Women From Education, Instructors Resign From Universities
Some faculty members from several universities in Afghanistan have resigned in response to the Taliban's decision to suspend education for girls in the country's higher educational institutions, reports Al Arabiya.
According to reports, some teachers from two universities in the northern provinces of Balkh and Baghlan have made the decision to leave their positions. Additionally, it has been reported that the Taliban are evicting female students from the dormitory of Kabul University, and electricity has been cut off in the building.
Previously, the Taliban stated that when the new Afghan authorities manage to resolve security and economic issues, they would resume education in schools and universities. As noted by Al Arabiya, many in the country, especially girls, do not accept these justifications.
